Empowering Our Residents

Would you like to join the Ribbleton Pride in Place Board?

Ribbleton Pride In Place is a new, community-led project shaped by people who live, work and care about Ribbleton. The aim is simple but powerful: to bring local people together to decide what matters most, and to turn those ideas into real change over the next few years.

This is about local pride, everyday places, and having a say. From streets and spaces, to opportunities for young people, community life and wellbeing, Ribbleton Pride in Place is about backing local ideas and building a stronger future together.

We’re right at the start. That means the people who step forward now will help set the direction, the culture and the values for years to come.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for local people who’d like to get involved as voluntary members of the Ribbleton Pride in Place Board.

You don’t need to have been on a board before — lived experience, local knowledge and care for the area really matter.

This role is unpaid, but reasonable expenses will be covered so that taking part is open to everyone.

The Board of Ribbleton Pride in Place plays a vital role in steering our 10-year community regeneration project, ensuring every decision is rooted in the needs of our residents.

What the Board Does

The Board We're Building

We welcome interest from people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences. This includes people who may not usually put themselves forward for roles like this, people with disabilities, caring responsibilities and young people.

We want a resident-led Board with strong local connections and a mix of skills.

What It Involves

Being on the Board involves regularly attending meetings to help shape priorities, listen to local voices, and take part in fair and open decision-making about projects and funding.

No one person needs to cover everything — it’s about the group acting in the best interests of the whole community.
